Where the rocks of the monument to the Fisherman's Wife form a cliff
Punta Sarridal viewpoint offers one of the most impressive panoramic views of the Cedeira coastline. Here, the bench sits on the same rocks as the monument to the Fisherman's Wife in the port of Cedeira.
From a geological point of view, these rocks are known as 'Candeeira amphibolites', which emerge in a long strip on the westernmost part of the complex. Although this area has undergone rigorous UNESCO control and it is difficult to find little-known formations, this rock formation is one of the least studied.
What is known is that the protoliths of these amphibolites were formed around 500 million years ago (Ma), like most of the lithologies in the Complex, with the exception of the ophiolites and peridotites of the ultramafic massifs.
