Route 6. Valdoviño and Cedeira: two days of coastline, lost oceans and seafaring tradition
Two days of coastal contrasts: from the powerful geology of lost oceans to the magic of a sanctuary, with waves and the flavours of the sea.

Duration: 2 full days.

In Valdoviño, start your route at O Baleo beach, a stretch of sand whose amphibolites reveal the ancient Palaeozoic Rheic Ocean. Continue towards the Punta Frouxeira lighthouse and coastal battery, a historical and military landmark with panoramic views of the coast. Immerse yourself in the world of surfing by visiting the Océano Surf Museum. Explore the lagoon and sand dunes of A Frouxeira, and feel the energy of Pantín beach, worldrenowned for its waves.

Your journey continues in Cedeira with a visit to its historic centre and port. Visit the Cedeira Sea Museum and A Concepción castle, overlooking the estuary. Nearby, discover Sarridal castro and the panoramic views from Punta Sarridal viewpoint. Then, set off for the Punta Candeeira lighthouse, a solitary guardian, and the Teixidelo viewpoint before ending your trip at the legendary Santo André de Teixido sanctuary, a place of deep tradition on imposing cliffs.
