Sarridal Castro

After centuries of occupation

This archaeological site located at Punta Sarridal is an enclave with a long history spanning from the Iron Age to later periods. Recent archaeological excavations have revealed occupation dating back to at least the 5^th century B.C. and continuing until the 5^th century A.D. In addition to its imposing walls, one of the most unique and significant finds is the monumento con forno (sauna castrexa) (Megalithic monument used as a sort of prehistoric sauna).
